Jan Kawulok's cottage is located in Istebna on the Wooden Architecture trail.
It is a historic regional chamber established in 1863. It once belonged to Jan Kawulok, a folk instrument maker and storyteller from Istebna.
In this wooden shingled hut, with two chambers with a hall in the middle, you can see archaic appliances of everyday use, such as flour-making. In one of the chambers there is a “kurlawy”, that is, a smoky stove, from which smoke escaped directly into the room, because it did not have a chimney! The decor of the chamber, antique household appliances, unique pastoral instruments create a unique atmosphere of this place.
