The lace museum is located in Koniakowo and is dedicated to the achievements of the famous Maria Gwarek, a long-time instructor of hacking and initiator of the Coronczarska Cooperative in Koniakow in 1947.
Kognaak lace is a handicraft with more than 200 years of tradition, thanks to it Kognaaki is known all over the world. Koniakow lace was traditionally made of round, oval and rectangular drapes and tablecloths, which adorned altars, tables and elements of clothing.
In the Maria Gwarek Chamber you can also see an unfinished drape, made by order of Queen Elizabeth of England. The drape was supposed to be the pride of the famous lace maker Maria Gwarek. Unexpectedly, however, she died while working on it, and the drape never reached England.
